Flexible mass loaded vinyl barriers help reduce airborne sound transmission. In those applications where an adequate level of sound reduction cannot be achieved through the use of sound absorbers alone then sound barriers can be used to block sound transmission from the noise source to the receiver. Sound barriers work by interposing a high density, preferably limp mass, barrier layer between the noise source and the controlled area. Sound barriers are commonly combined with sound absorbers to create truly effective composite noise control materials. Sound barrier weight can be varied in order to provide the optimum cost benefit ratio. At Technicon we manufacture all of our own barriers, laminates, and composites which allows us the flexibility to provide you with the most cost effective option to achieve your noise control objective.

Typical sound barrier uses include machine enclosures and housings, bulkheads, firewall treatments, cab floors, and pipe wraps.
