HELICOPTER DECK LIGHTING SYSTEMS AND GROUND POWER UNIT

Helicopter pilots have complained for years about unsafe landing conditions due to the ‘black hole’ effect caused by improper illumination of the landing area on platforms. Orga studied the problem and designed a helicopter deck lighting system with yellow perimeter lights and special floodlights to give an evenly illuminated landing area without the ‘black hole’ effect and the glaring lights associated with previous solutions. As a result of these design solutions, the International Civil Aviation Organization adapted these improvements as their current recommendations. Orga has now also developed a perfectly illuminated windsock and a ground power unit for trouble free starting of the helicopter.

CENTRALIZED AIDS TO NAVIGATION SYSTEMS

Since 1985, more than 500 drilling and production platforms all over the world have been equipped with Orga "centralized aids to navigation" systems, consisting of marine lanterns, foghorns and aeronautical obstruction lights. By using the Orga developed centralized power supply, control and monitoring concept, the cost of cables, junction boxes, installation and maintenance has been dramatically reduced whilst the reliability figures are excellent. Orga’s reference list shows all the major operating companies placing their orders with Orga year after year; a proof of their confidence and satisfaction.

Aeronautical Obstruction Lights

are designed for marking high obstacles. Orga manufacturers aeronautical obstruction lights, according to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and/or local recommendations. If necessary it can be supplied complete with a control panel. Some fixtures can supplied certified for use in zone 1 hazardous areas.
