bst Fire Stop Boards & Coatings
for Mineral Wool Transits

Fire Stop System „A & K“. For fire-resistant sealings as mineral wool transits bst supplies raw or pre-coated (on one side or both sides) mineral fibre boards, volumetric weight 150 kg/m³, for installation penetrations. Fire resistance class from S30 to S120 (= F30 to F120, depending on board thickness).
bst Fire Stop Coating „Type A“ is also suitable for fire protection of steel constructions and cable coatings (short circuit retardation), fire resistance class F30.

Application
Coating compound used as basic layer for mineral wool transits in installation penetrations (combined with bst Fire Stop Boards), for cable coatings to prevent flame spreading and to retard short-circuits in case of fire and for the fire protection of steel.
Directions for use

The Fire Stop Coating „Type A“ is being supplied ready for use and can be diluted by adding 10% water, if need be (first layer). To be applied by brush, spray (airless) or rolls.

Characteristics

Elastic, halogen-free fire protection compound with heat-expanding (intumescent) effect. In case of fire material expands up to tenfold of its volume and thus forms a heat-insulating layer.
bst Fire Stop Mastic "K"
Application
Mastic is used as covering layer for mineral wool transits in installation penetrations combined with bst Fire Stop Boards and bst Fire Stop Coating „Type A“, and also as a fire-resistant filling for seams.
Directions for use

The Fire Stop Mastic is a paste compound to be applied undiluted by hand (with trowel or spatula).

Characteristics

Delivery Set
Disposable containers of 5 kgs, 15 kgs and 35 kgs, or re-usable containers of 60kgs. If requested, material can also be supplied in cartridges of 310 ml.
 
Accessories
When installing a mineral wool transit, the bst Fire Stop Boards are used as carrier material (density 140 kg/m²). Depending on application and fire resistance class one or two boards are to be used for one penetration. Boards are either coated on one or both sides with Type „A“. To complete the mineral wool transit only a covering layer of Type „K“ is necessary.

Mineral fibre board pre-coated with Fire Stop Coating „Type A“ (either on one or both sides), volumetric weight 150kgs/m³, standard size 1000x625mm. For the covering final layer approx. 0,8 to 1,0 kg compound is required for each side and each m².

The single sealing of cables for the electrician, self-made fire protection! Suitable for sealing approx. 0,75 m² of installation penetrations ! Contents: pre-coated Fire Stop Boards, Fire Stop Coatings, directions for use, tools, stickers and copy of approval!
 
Application
Clean the opening from dust, apply adhesive tape around it to obtain an even rim (50mm), apply Fire Stop Coating „A“ on inner side of opening... ...and on cables (for a length of 15 cm within the opening and 15 cm outside it). Pre-coated bst mineral fibre boards are cut to required size...
...and put into the opening (coated side = outer side). Larger joints and holes to be filled with bst rockwool and covered with bst mastic type „K“. Complete the installation coating with bst „K“ (depth of layer approx. 1,5-2mm) and also cover the joints and seams.
